Overview

Following the tragedy, which took place in the darkened lobby of an office building, Andrews (James Franciscus) faces the unpleasant task of revealing Ted Harper's (Joel Crothers) death to his mother, a nightclub pianist. Kitty bitterly accuses Andrews of killing her son and won't listen to his theory that Ted may have been involved in criminal activity, since he was carrying a gun when he died. Widespread suspicion arises that Andrews may have been responsible for an innocent boy's death, and the investigator faces an uphill fight to clear himself and to unravel the truth about Ted.
