Overview
Visit the Yaeyama Islands in Okinawa, a tropical paradise. The popular Taketomi Island, where the ancient Ryukyuan townscape remains, and the cats of Hateruma Island, Japan's southernmost inhabited island, are introduced. On Taketomi Island, we meet the signboard cat of a popular grill garden, cats living in the popular Kondoi Beach and Ryukyuan old houses. The programme also visits a diner on Hateruma Island where abandoned cats are taken in.
