Overview

This journey starts with a steam locomotive on the Furkaberg massif, bringing back times gone by. And Dutch volunteers are also active on the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke. Then we board the world famous Glacier Express. The train with the famous panoramic carriages offers a beautiful view of the Swiss mountain world. We drive past the Aletsch Glacier, the largest ice mass in the Alps, measuring no less than 23 kilometers in length. The ride with the Glacier Express ends in Zermatt, known for the most iconic mountain in Switzerland: the Matterhorn. In Zermatt we take a cog railway to the Gornergrat. The journey goes through dense forests and alpine meadows to a spectacular altitude of 3089 meters. Along the way, the traveler is treated to beautiful views. Once at the top, the traveler finds himself surrounded by no fewer than 29 peaks of more than 4,000 meters high, with of course a view of the King of the Mountains: the Matterhorn.
