Overview

Near-death experiences reinforce the popular belief among Christians that souls go to heaven or hell as soon as the body dies. But in the Bible, the soul is said to be “a living being”—and that a soul can die. Scripture also repeatedly describes death as a “sleep” from which we awake at one of two resurrections.
