Overview
Two screenwriters begin writing the script for a series about a hospital. The action begins with the arrival at the hospital of Boris Ivanovich Kozlovsky, the "new Russian", wounded during the assassination attempt. Kozlovsky, threatening with a gun, demands elite conditions for himself, the staff is trying to satisfy his demands. In Ward No. 6, a welder and an intellectual lie with Kozlovsky. Soon, the chief surgeon drops in on Boris Ivanovich, inquires about his health and hands him several magazines, informing him that on the cover of one of them is a photograph of his wife Adelaide. Kozlovsky and his mates look at the photo and find out that each of them at one time made acquaintance with this woman.
