Overview
Legendary gunwriter Elmer Keith, who wrote for Guns & Ammo magazine for decades and was instrumental in convincing Smith & Wesson and Remington to introduce the Model 29 .44 double-action revolver and .44 Magnum cartridge, respectively, in the mid-1950s, would be impressed with the new Model 69 five-shot revolver. It's the first time in more than 55 years of existence that the .44 Magnum cartridge has been chambered by S&W in any other frame size revolver than the N-frame.
