Overview

Was St. Augustine a theistic evolutionist who rejected the literal historical truth of the first eleven chapters of the book of Genesis? Episode Three, Part II, shows that St. Augustine firmly upheld the literal historical truth of every word in Genesis 1-11, including the fiat creation of all things at the beginning of time. It demonstrates that St. Augustine's reliance on a faulty Latin translation of Genesis led him to propose a singular interpretation of the meaning of "day" not to abandon but to uphold the literal historical truth of the text of the first chapters of Genesis.
