Written by Miguel de Cervantes in two parts (1605 and 1615), Don Quixote is the foundational masterpiece of Western literature. It follows Alonso Quixano, an aging nobleman who reads so many chivalric romances that he loses his mind, setting out as a knight-errant to revive chivalry and protect the helpless.
