Kartikeya's birth

Overview

Maa Lakshmi continues the tale of the birth of Lord Karthikeya to Garud. Mahadev grants the wish to the devatas that the child they want should only have 'ansh' of Mahadev and not of Maa Parvati. Mahadev's power gives birth to divine energy, the 'ansh' contains so much power and energy that neither of the 'devatas' is able to control and bear it. Maa Dharti and Maa Ganga also fail to bear the power of Mahadev's 'ansh'.
