Overview

A mass grave containing the mummified remains of approximately 60 people near Luxor poses a puzzle. Who were the dead? Why were they buried in a mass grave, an unusual practice at the time? Further excavations provide clues to the spectacular decline of the ancient pharaonic empire. But it is only the collaboration of international climate researchers and ecologists that brings the answer.
