Overview

At the Akrotiri Peninsula in Cyprus, nine fighter pilots take part in a five-month training course to gain entry to the elite Red Arrows aerobatics display team. In the 44-year history of the squadron, there have been six deaths, and the dangerous nature of the job means potential members must be experienced RAF pilots with at least 1,500 flying hours, as the Hawk jets they will be flying reach speeds of more than 400mph, and often fly only 4ft apart.
