Overview
SCI Cresson was a medium security prison on the outskirts of the Allegheny Mountains in western Pennsylvania that shut down in 2013 . Prior to its establishment as a prison, it operated as a tuberculosis sanatorium as well as a mental health facility. Tens of thousands of people passed through these walls over the course of 100 years, but many never left.
