Overview
The brand-new Holden Commodore era begins under the cloud of one of Bathurst's most heartbreaking, infamous incidents. Popular Ford privateer Dick Johnson leads early before violently striking a massive rock rolled onto the track by a spectator. The crash destroys his car and emotional dream live on national television. In a beautiful display of sportsmanship, an avalanche of public donations funds his return.
