Overview
Fuel strategy and raw nerve take centre stage in a high-stakes tactical chess match on the mountain. Jamie Whincup and Paul Dumbrell pilot their Triple Eight Commodore into a commanding late-race lead, but a critically low fuel warning throws the garage into absolute panic. Ignoring frantic orders to slow down, Whincup gambles everything on a blistering, high-speed defensive run to narrowly edge out a hard-charging David Reynolds at the line.
