Overview

A bitter, unprecedented political split divides Australian motorsport, resulting in two entirely separate 1000-kilometre races on the mountain. The traditional V8 Fords and Holdens field a highly dramatic event, while Peter Brock makes an emotional, temporary final start as a full-time driver.
