Overview

Wu Song encountered Sun Erniang’s inn, where she and her husband Zhang Qing initially planned to rob and kill him. Seeing through their scheme, Wu Song tested their character, and discovering their true loyalty and righteousness, he proposed a sworn brotherhood. The three bonded warmly, and Zhang Qing offered to kill the constables or introduce Wu Song to bandit life, but Wu Song refused, valuing the kindness shown by the officers. Later, at Mengzhou Prison, Wu Song antagonized guards despite warnings, but Shi En, the junior warden, intervened, providing him with fine meals while keeping his identity secret. Wu Song’s insistence eventually prompted Shi En to begin revealing the truth.
