Bart and the search for the doppelgänger

Overview

Artist and filmmaker Bart Eysink Smeets (1988) is completely fed up with our obsession with being unique. To free the world from this, he wants to prove that he, and therefore no one, is unique. Among the eight billion people on earth, he goes in search of his doppelgänger. With the help of posters, mobile billboards and online advertisements, he tracks down countless Bart lookalikes. Using facial recognition software, he comes across the photo of a possible doppelgänger in America. Will he be able to find this still nameless 'Bart'? And does the search yield what he hopes for?
