Overview
In Fort Bragg, California, a former town dump that operated until the early 1900s has become famed for its glistening coastline, scattered with thousands of pieces of colorful sea glass. For decades, the waves at Glass Beach have eroded shards of broken glass into smooth pebbles, transforming the landscape by turning trash into jewel-like forms. For the short film We Could Have Never Met, director Colin Rosemont captures the coastline in a meditation on chance encounters, guided by Captain Cass Forrington – a former sea captain who runs the International Sea Glass Museum. Through his spiritual outlook and devotion to sea glass, the experimental documentary connects the art of discovery to the logic of the cosmos, tracing the interplay between the act of searching and the faith that fate has a power of its own...
