Overview
"The Sea in Us responds to the Athfield House in Khandallah by creating a dance. Using gestures and repetition dancer / choreographer Solomon Holly-Massey plays with the possibilities for movement suggested by the iconic rooftop design and the way people use the space. The portals, the slide and stairs are discovered and become prompts for action. It is a joyful space, one suited to playing and relaxing, these activities are brought to the foreground in the work. As an unfinished building the house offers us an invitation to keep moving and changing." - Artist's statement
