Overview
The Inga Alley-Cropping pilot is in year 13 in rural, northern Honduras and has impressive results for carbon sequestered and avoided 876,000 tons in 12 years. Trained and assisted by an all-Honduran team, 500 smallholder families have planted over 3 million native, nitrogen-fixing trees on steep, highly degraded land. The clearing/burning, a process that destroys 200,000 acres a day, stops when a family plants their alley of trees.
