Overview
In ancient times, a foolish artisan attempts to remake the statue of God of Wealth, only to have it stolen and exploited by a powerful and corrupt family. In modern time, female director DENG Mulan is besieged by both her exploitative family and her capitalist discipline. The two timelines are interwoven and mirrored through the medium of shadow puppetry, reflecting the collapse of faith and the search for self-redemption.
