Overview
On the eve of a sacred Javanese ritual, Djenar is forced by her father to embrace a destiny she never chose. As she undergoes a series of ceremonial preparations, she experiences a surreal separation from her former self, confronting the emotional cost of tradition, obedience, and identity.
