Overview
Sudanese painter Salah Elmur spends his days in Cairo reveling in nostalgia, searching for inspiration, as he sifts through his immense photographic archive and recalls his boyhood alongside the Blue Nile. This documentary short follows the artist as he translates images from his past into dream-like paintings that reflect both his love for his hometown of Khartoum and his struggle against the censorship, violence, and war that keep him from returning.
