Overview

Roj Friberg lost an eye at age 11, a handicap that did not stop him becoming one of the most prolific artists in Sweden. To overcome an allergy to turpentine, he developed his unique technique of using beeswax instead of oil, and a rotating rubber drill bit instead of a brush. His dark, surrealistic art reflects his fears for an increasingly materialistic world.
