Overview
Set against the rural backdrop of South Rajasthan, "Naate" is a social drama that explores the harsh realities of the ancient, controversial "Naata custom"—a practice where women are financially and socially traded or forced into relationships. The story follows Jeevvi, a mother who has been subjected to this cycle multiple times and fights daily for survival, and her daughter Pinky, who sacrifices her own dreams and accepts child marriage to protect her mother. It is an emotional and raw look at systemic social corruption, honor, and deep-seated prejudices targeting women in rural India.
