Overview

A group of indigenous women, peasant farmers, and defenders of nature embarked on a 20-day journey as walkers, travelers, and witnesses to the impact that mining is having on their territories. Like contemporary chasquis, they carried their voices, perspectives, and messages of resistance from community to community, between Ecuador and Peru. This caravan, made up of warmikuna from different villages, highlighted the devastating effects of the extractive industry, but also wove a network of collective strength, ancestral wisdom, and defense of life. Their journey is one of memory, denunciation, and seeds of hope.
