Overview

Valentina is a young woman from Galicia who moves to Laredo to pursue her dream of entering the Basque Culinary Center. In the kitchen of La Parra, she discovers a world ruled by noise, haste, and the constant pressure of nonstop service. Between endless shifts, financial worries, and a growing sense of failure, the kitchen stops being the place where she imagined building a future and becomes a space of exhaustion and anxiety. Far from home and increasingly isolated, Valentina tries to cling to a passion that is beginning to crumble before her eyes. Mise en Place is an intimate portrait of youthful insecurity and the wear and tear on a generation forced to turn their dreams into a means of survival.
