Overview
Under Louis XIV, France became a kingdom of shadows, where everyone was under surveillance and spies were lurking around every corner. His advisor, Antoine Rossignol, designed a complex network of espionage and encryption, strengthening the king's power and thwarting plots. Security obsession reached fever pitch, with fears of assassinations and coded messages sweeping across Europe.
