Overview
The tourist town of Lignano Pineta was designed in the form of a spiral by the architect Marcello D’Olivo in the post-war period. Between the 1950s and 70s, it became a site for architectural experimentation, with several buildings imitating organic and rationalist forms. The phenomenon remains unknown today.
