Overview

Between 1940 and 1945, Scheveningen was one of the Nazis’ most notorious prisons. The ironic nickname ‘Oranjehotel’ was a tribute to the many resistance fighters who were imprisoned there. An elderly man recalls his imprisonment at the Oranjehotel during the Second World War. He tells of his experiences in prison and, in particular, of his new cellmate, Pieter.
