Overview
A bolduc is a decorative ribbon used in gift wrapping that curls when passed through open scissors. It takes its name from the city where it originated, Bolduque, or Bois-le-Duc in French, a name that was transformed into bolduc in the 17th century. The 16 mm film does not twist under the effect of the scissors, but the layers of colored emulsion, with their scratches, reveal a dance of bluish variations.
