Overview
Point of departure is an unfinished script for a never-realised play, written by Bertolt Brecht during his exile in Stockholm 1939-40. The fragments of script were later revived in 1978, when the German-Swedish author Peter Weiss constructed a fictive, albeit detailed, imaginary description that completes the play.
