Il Paese Interiore

Overview

This short documentary, Il paese interiore (the inner town/country), is based on the writings of Vito Teti, a Calabrian anthropologist whose work has traced the departures of migrants and the emptying of many towns and villages in Southern Italy since the end of the Second World War. The documentary offers a rich visual account of emptying and the consequences of emigration.
