Overview

KHIDE is a 2D hand-drawn horror-drama set against the nocturnal landscape of Kolkata. Through a blend of supernatural horror, dark humor, and social realism, the film explores the relationship between hunger, exploitation, and human morality. The story follows Babloo Mondal, a middle-aged food delivery rider struggling to survive under the relentless demands of the gig economy. While attempting to complete his deliveries and win the Fastest Delivery Contest, Babloo unknowingly enters an abandoned morgue to deliver one of his orders and gets trapped by a group of ghosts. At its core, KHIDE uses horror as a metaphor to examine contemporary social issues, including food insecurity, institutional neglect, and the exploitation of gig workers. By juxtaposing moments of fear with absurd comedy, the film creates a unique tonal balance that allows its social commentary to emerge organically from the narrative.
