Overview
Protection for animals, loss for people. Nature reserves in Africa are cutting off access to forests and rivers for Indigenous communities, threatening their livelihoods. To ensure the protection of rhinos, lions, and gorillas, African governments are increasingly ceding territories to NGOs like WWF, African Parks, and the Northern Rangelands Trust, to the detriment of Indigenous peoples.
