Overview
Hundreds of tons of space debris most of it microscopic size particles-- falls to earth every single day! But a fireball the size of a football field can land here too. An impact 65 million years ago appears to have ended the reign of the dinosaurs. Now the idea that our planet orbits in a shooting gallery of comets and asteroids is getting serious attention.
