Eye As An Oracle

Overview

A few years ago, my cousin had to decide whether to have her right eye surgically removed because of a tumor that was pressing against the back of her eyeball. (...) Not long after the operation, my cousin began to see images with the eye she no longer had. These phantom images seem completely real. They keep playing, amidst and within the images of the shared reality we perceive. It led me to wonder where our eyesight is situated. To what extent is seeing a virtual process?
