Overview
The Jambelí Archipelago is located on the southern coast of Ecuador. It consists mainly of mangroves, but due to shrimp farming expansion, much of this ecosystem has been lost. The mangroves that remain are a source of life for five communities that have agreements for sustainable use and stewardship of the mangroves. With open hands, these five groups collect shells, and together, like a clenched fist, they fight for the mangroves.
