Overview

Gustavo de Carrara has made his fortune running a diamond mine in South Africa, but he can't quite remember who he was before 1921, though he suspects he was a soldier. A waiter at the Melilla hotel where he's staying confirms this suspicion by recognizing him as Augusto Miralles, his captain at the Battle of Annual, who disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
