Now something of a Vienna Shorts regular, here working in collaboration with Cosma Grosser, Markus Maicher once again graces the Austrian Competition with a visually striking meditation on a natural environment. An archaic-looking riverscape in Krumpendorf, Carinthia. A double-screen experience (try crossing your eyes, stereopticon style!) shot on 16-mm monochrome, edited in-camera and hand-developed, it deploys analogue synthesizer music to complete an immersive, transporting effect.
