Overview
At a surreal dinner party, Bee—the main guest—is forced to confront the nature of their identity as society’s expectations are literally and metaphorically fed to them. The meal becomes a ritual of conformity, where hegemonic femininity consumes their true self. Dinner Party explores the suffocating pressure of gender norms and the performative aspects of identity. Through Bee’s struggle to please others and suppress their authentic self, the film exposes how society shapes, disciplines, and ultimately devours those who don’t fit its prescribed ideals.
