Overview
This film traces the birth, life and death of a psychedelic rock club in the heart of Luxembourg City in the late 60s. This mythical ‘Dany Cage’ club existed for barely two and a half years, but it left its mark on the minds of its contemporaries, accelerating the emancipation of a youth yearning for greater freedom. The testimonial film is based on a series of interviews with 18 witnesses of the period. Their words are illustrated by archives from Luxembourg and elsewhere, and punctuated by moments of fiction. It offers a unique perspective on Luxembourg society at the turn of the 70s. The film also shows the extent to which music played a decisive role in this process of emancipation, and places the small story in the big picture: it was also the time of the Vietnam War, Sommer of Love, May ‘68, Woodstock...
