Overview

It is often said and spread that Choqhequiraw is the second Machu Picchu: nothing could be further from the truth. Choqhequiraw, like the other Inca ruins, served a specific function, each according to its location and geographical importance within the Tawantinsuyu territory. We first identified Choqhequiraw as the most important site for astronomical observation during the Inca Empire due to the gigantic and colossal Ushnu (platform) built there. “Circumstantial traveler of life. If you have not seen the rarefied air deep inland, you do not know the world into which you were born. Submerged at the summit of the gods of the Andean world, we savor the privilege of finding ourselves here, alongside eternity. I will traverse eternity.”
