Overview
Uruguayan carnival is investigated by a director who seeks to illustrate the evolution of a popular culture that, in its origins, had a strong Italian and European influence. Through a multiplicity of voices including those of José Pepe Mujica, Lucía Topolansky, Edu ‘Pitufo’ Lombardo, Chabela Ramírez, Lobo Núñez and others, the film risks a collective interpretation of the social and political meaning of Uruguay's greatest festival, proposing to the viewer a journey through its diverse practices and poetics.
