Overview
It is known that adolescents show a special interest in horror films because they create a feeling of excitement, tension, increased attention, followed by relief when the negative characters are punished. Research shows that children thus question their own fears and their ways of dealing with them, and build resilience to stress. Two animators, motivated by their personal interest in horror, created a short animated film inspired by watching famous clips from Hitchcock's The Birds. The film was made using a very demanding chalk drawing technique on a wooden board to make the frames as dark as possible, and additional tension was created by sound effects of roars and thunder, and music that increases the tension.
