Overview

The Chicago businessman escaped from Dubai on Aug 17, 1998 by mailing himself to Amsterdam in a wooden crate. Caught between a handful of unscrupulous businessmen and an unpredictable legal system, he relied on the trust of a handful of individuals to devise and excute a plan for escape. His course of action tested him physically, mentally and spiritually. As the only American prisoner in the Dubai jail, when Ted was needed for a court appearance, the guards would simply say, "Amereki Kum."
