A Mother's Story

Overview

Qi'er’s mother gave birth to seven children, but due to dietary restrictions during pregnancy, only the seventh: Qi'er survived. Qi'er later joined the Youth Army to fight in the War of Resistance against Japan. After the war ended, the civil war prevented him from returning home. Unable to understand why Chinese were fighting Chinese, his elderly mother, with bound feet, set out on a journey to find her son.
